Dr. Patrick Aboagye is the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service.
Preceding his appointment as the Director-General, he was the Director of Family Health Division of the Ghana Health Service. He is a Senior Public Health Physician Specialist, a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health with over 27 years’ experience as a clinician and Public Health Physician. He also has 20 years’ experience in Health Care practice and management in Ghana. He has supervised and managed impactful programs including Maternal, Newborn, Child Health, Nutrition and Family Planning in Ghana, particularly the MDG’s Accelerated Fund (MAF) Program, the Ghana Limited Obstetric Ultrasonography Program for Primary Health Care, the Girls’ Iron Folic Acid Supplementation Program, and the Medical Screening for Schools Program.
