Skills and Entrepreneurial Development Initiative

To support women break the cycle of poverty, and improve their socio-economic well-being, SEHP provides training, capital, start-up kits and assists women with the establishment of micro-enterprise schemes that are of local relevance. Through the Skills & Entrepreneurial Development Initiative (SEDI), 2100 women have been trained in yoghurt making across the five (5) northern regions. 1300 women in 14 districts across the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Northern, Upper East, Upper West, Savannah and North East Regions have also been trained in soap and detergent making. 

SEHP, in partnership with the Ministry of Business Development and the National entrepreneurship and innovation Plan (NEIP) has set a target to train one hundred and fifty (150) small and medium-scale traders in Financial Management, Bookkeeping, Home Management, Building a Culture of Business Resilience, and identifying business opportunities during and in a post-COVID economy. So far, seventy-one (71) of these female traders have been trained and have received interest-free loans ranging from GHS 5000 – GHS 10,000, under this initiative.
