Project Description
Many schools in under-served communities across Ghana do not have physical libraries and/or many reading materials to stimulate creativity and the love for reading. As part of SEHP’s commitment to improve literacy among children in Ghana, mobile libraries are provided to these schools. Boxes filled with storybooks of different reading levels are distributed to these schools to expand access and close the literacy gap. School heads are encouraged to run reading clubs to further drive interest in the children to explore the world through stories.
SEHP has also supported after-school clubs that teach children how to read, notable of which is Play & Learn Foundation.
Since its inception in 2017, the Library –In-A-Box project has distributed over one hundred and forty thousand (140,000) books to fifty-four (54) basic schools across the country, benefitting 65000 pupils.
